Call for Participation: The EdSurge Digital Learning Network is growing and so are the resources available to you!

Conversations in the Digital Learning Network have indicated that keeping track of all the new digital learning products has become increasingly challenging. With that in mind, EdSurge recently relaunched their courseware product index to include interactive filters, inspired by the CWiC Framework, that guide you to a shortlist based on your specific inputs.

This tool has been developed to empower digital learning leaders to make informed decisions during the product evaluation and selection process.

EdSurge is seeking your help to continue to improve on what they’ve built. Take a few minutes to explore the index and answer these quick questions.

Resource: For Online Class Discussions, Instructors Move From Text to Video

For many students, participating in online class discussions can feel like menial work. Instructors often agree that it does not simulate authentic discussion and interaction. For some instructors, the answer is video. They’re asking students to send in short video responses to questions or share their arguments by submitting short video presentations. Videos add a personal dimension that is often missing from his online courses. Students report that being able to watch videos of their peers makes them feel more connected to their fellow learners.

K-W-L charts can be a valuable tool to engage a student's prior knowledge and help them apply and reflect on  their learning. The chart has seen a deeper evolution as 21st century skills have become more embedded in curriculum outcomes. The chart below is just one example of a revision that aims to make thinking and learning more visible.
