Hi, could you please share more information about the challenges facing veterans? What are some of their common accessibility needs? What features in Blackboard can assist with those particular accessibility needs?
I see the VA has a website about accessibility here:
It's very thorough but doesn't document what particular needs veterans have.
Lisa, there is a Veterans and Military Affairs Coordinator in my office (University Life). She is better equipped to answer these questions. Her name is Diana Pasterchick. Her email is: Diana.Pasterchick@suny.edu.
I've also attached 2 articles (within 1 attachment) that may be helpful - from the Journal of Postsecondary Education and Disability.
As promised, I’m sharing some resources I hope you find helpful.
Third Party Products & Services - familiarize yourself with important questions you and faculty should ask vendors. Attached to this email is a brief overview of Third Party Products & Services. The following are great resources:

Andrea posted the OER accessibility poster link in the chat: When Open Isn't Accessible
Hope mentioned a possible SUNY-wide contract for ReadSpeaker. To repeat what I said in the chat for those who may have missed: Regarding university wide contracts/agreements with adaptive technologies and vendors who provide accessibility services (e.g., captioning vendors), I am working with colleagues at System Admin to explore options. I would sincerely appreciate any input you have on what products or services you need on your campuses. Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions or concerns.
