Data visualization tools are great to use for individual or group activities. many eyes is a great place to experiment with these tools. They offer a really a wide variety of visualization options.

Alexandra, Just took a look at your seesmic post and will definitely set some time aside to take a closer look. This outside/in strategy looks really engaging.
Thanks so much.

This is how seesmic started out... it was not the social media aggregator that it is today. It was wildly cool and active in the beginning, but Loic, the originator, turned his business plan away from the online threaded discussion utility to the social media utility that it is today. - leaving seesmic.tv as a small aside. I have LOVED it since i joined some 3 years ago. i use it in my online instruction and i promote it whenever i can : )

here is an example of how i use it to blur boundaries and invite the outside into my fully online course.

I look forward to sharing tools, ideas and results. I use Seesmic to collect and review social media interaction. My students are now using it for both research and social interaction. It may be that allowing them to multi-task on some level will also provide more learning and sharing opportunities.
