Dr. Gloria Niles is a dedicated educator focused on advancing teaching and learning with technology. Dr. Niles has experience with online learning as a student, instructor, designed and an administrator. She also brings over 20 years of experience teaching both P-12 as well as Higher Education. Gloria currently serves as the Director of Distance Education at the University of Hawai’i - West O’ahu, charged with the oversight of all facets of online instruction, from web-enhanced learning experiences to hybrid course development and fully online programming.
Dr Niles brings extensive experience in designing, developing and evaluating new programs and curricula for online, hybrid and face-to-face delivery. She highly values interactive pedagogies, faculty partnerships, and data-driven decision making. Her scholarly endeavors focus on creating engaging and accessible learning environments, universal design for learning, and innovative approaches to faculty development; meeting both new and veteran educators where they are with adapting to technological innovation in the fast-changing academic environment.
