about me
Linda Lawrence is the Coordinator of Instructor Development in the Center for Distance Learning at Empire State College. She is responsible for coordinating development and training for 600+ faculty, including part-time and adjunct for the Center to support instructor and student success in the online learning environment. Ms. Lawrence integrates a variety of training principles, LMS training, pedagogy, and effective learning practices into resources and development opportunities for online teaching and learning. Additionally, she uses a variety of technological applications to design, implement, facilitate and connect online, often geographically distant, faculty through self-directed online workshops, webinars and individualized support. Over the last five years, Ms. Lawrence has also been instrumental in bringing together faculty and professionals through coordination and planning of a Center conference focusing on online teaching and learning. Her contributions and dedication to faculty development were recognized in 2011 when Empire State College received the prestigious Sloan-C Award for Faculty Development for Online Teaching. Her interests are in online faculty skills and competency development promoting teaching effectiveness to support student retention and success.
